Skencil for scientific figures
From Theory of Measurements Wiki
Skencil is a nice alternative to Xfig for drawing scientific figures as it is the only other program that I know of that is capable of using Latex to render math fragments. Skencil does it slightly better, as you actually see what you get. The latex+skencil configuration should work at least with linux and OS X.
[edit]
How to get it working
- Install skencil
- Install a NEW version of pstoedit 3.44 should do (distributions often have too old pstoedit)
- Install sketchlatex.
- Draw. The user interface has one thing in common with Xfig: non-conventional user interface.
